[Conference] Building Simulation 2023 in Shanghai, China

We are currently attending the Building Simulation 2023 Conference in Shanghai with some of the Sustainable Building Design Lab Members Alireza Norouziasas, Ramin Rahif, and Farimah Piraei . With the theme 'Simulation for the low-carbon design/operation/city' the conference provides a platform for participants to share their latest academic and research progress, including cutting-edge technologies and innovation in building simulation for the design and operation.

We are glad to attend the largest IBPSA conference in history with more than 545 accepted papers from almost 300 universities. One-third of the papers are from mainland China, China-Hong Kong, and China-Taiwan, and the other two-thirds are from the rest of the world.

We are lucky to visit China at a moment when its economic growth is peaking. The country and its people are working hard, and fast and scaling up their developments for a prosperous future leadership. We see our collaboration with China as crucial and strategic to move toward efficiency and quality of all aspects of the built environment towards carbon neutrality.
We are glad to have so many Chinese scientists from mainland China and expat scientists living abroad. The collaboration will help us tackle not only problems in China, Europe, and the Americas but more importantly in Africa and in general in the the Global South.

Thank you YIQUN PAN, Da Yan, and the organization committee including Yanping Yuan, Naiping Gao, and all student volunteers. We are glad to have met Wangda Zuo, Leon Wang, Nan Ma, Penguyan Shen, Xue Liu, Shuai Lu, and Maohui Luo.
