SBD Lab 2022 Interns Graduation Day

Congratulations to our 2022 interns' graduation 🎓. This year we had four committed, creative, organized, ambitious, and independent young engineers from France and Italy.

The intern worked mainly on the urban heat effect characterization and validation of Nature-Based solutions for the city of Brussels as part of the project ILOTS. Following a multiscale assessment approach, the intern combined several measurements and heat detection techniques, including thermal images and drones, with satellite maps to determine the hot spots in the capital. Also, they learn how to use Envimet and advanced climate forcing to test different Natur-Based solutions.

The interns followed an evidence-based approach to bust myths and empirical practices about urban heat island mitigation. Also, the interns' participation in our Scientific Seminar & Workshop - SurChauffe & OCCuPANt took place from 16-17 June 2022. The final evaluation of the internship was positive, and feedback and learned lessons evaluations reported a high satisfaction of the SBD Lab team.
